Dear Students,
Your End-Semester University Practical/Viva Examination (ESE-V) for Power Systems-II (BE05009021) is scheduled on 23/10/26 and 26/10/26. This viva carries a weightage of 50 marks, and you must secure a minimum of 25 marks to pass. Students are informed to remain present at 10:30 AM sharp at institute.
Please read and follow the mandatory guidelines below to
prepare effectively:
📋 Mandatory Items to
Carry
- Lab
Manual: Fully completed, signed, and certified by the faculty.
- PBL
(Problem Based Learning) File: Containing reports of your assigned
complex problem-solving and simulation activities.
You are expected to be thoroughly
familiar with the baseline structure of the course:
- Total
Syllabus Modules: 8 Modules
- Total
Course Outcomes (COs): 5 Course Outcomes.
Preparation Framework
1. Theory (Whole Syllabus)
Be prepared for theoretical
questions, derivations, and formulas spanning all 8 modules. Focus
closely on circuit breaker selections, per-unit setups, and physical phenomena
like the Ferranti effect and corona loss.
2. Practicals & Software
Applications
Review all 13 practicals
performed during the semester. You must know the underlying algorithms,
implementation details, and the full forms of the software used:
- MATLAB:
MATrix LABoratory
- Octave:
GNU Octave
To confidently secure your passing
marks (25+ marks) and you are recommended to achieve absolute
mastery over any two major modules, from which the examiner can ask
deep conceptual or analytical questions:
Properly preparing these two
segments ensures you can confidently address the core mathematical and
analytical questions of the examination.
Be punctual, dress in formal
attire, and come well-prepared.
NOTE: Blank Papers/Answer sheet will be provided for calculation and explanation. Examiner can ask from Lab manual/PBL file also.
